Wundine on Wheels: A Visionary Leap in Mobile Swimming Education

The International Sauna Association is excited to announce a significant highlight of the upcoming interbad 2024 trade fair: the unveiling of the Josef Wund Foundation’s latest initiative, the Wundine 3 SchwimmMobile. This event underscores a major advancement in mobile aquatic education, aligned with our commitment to enhancing wellness and safety through innovative community projects.

Addressing a Critical Need

Recent findings from a 2022 forsa survey, commissioned by the German Life Saving Association (DLRG), reveal a concerning trend: the doubling of primary school children unable to swim since 2010. The Josef Wund Foundation is responding to this alarming issue with the Wundine Schwimmakademie, which includes the Wundine at School and Wundine on Wheels modules. This project brings vital swimming education directly to communities, particularly in regions where access to swimming lessons is limited.

A Mobile Solution to a Widespread Challenge

The Wundine on Wheels initiative features the Wundine 3, a mobile swimming pool that travels to various regions, making stops for specified periods to offer structured swimming lessons. This innovative SchwimmMobile, set to be officially unveiled on October 23, 2024, at interbad, represents a pioneering approach to aquatic education, particularly for young children in rural areas.

Modular Learning Approach

The Wundine Schwimmakademie operates on a modular concept:

  1. Wundine at School: This module supports swimming education in schools by providing tandem teaching opportunities with qualified instructors.
  2. Wundine on Wheels: Expanding beyond the school setting, this module brings swimming lessons to regions with limited access, using a fully equipped six-wheel SchwimmMobile that includes a training pool, changing areas, and sanitary facilities.

Expanding Horizons

Through its SchwimmMobiles, the Josef Wund Foundation shares its pedagogical and technical expertise with municipalities and potential operators, fostering a collaborative environment to promote swimming as a vital skill nationwide. The initiative not only addresses the immediate need for swimming education but also serves as a model for non-commercial community engagement and support.

A Platform for Innovation

Celebrating its 30th iteration, interbad, in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für das Badewesen and Messe Stuttgart, continues to be a pivotal event for professionals in the swimming pool, sauna, and spa industries. This year, the fair will provide a comprehensive platform for stakeholders to explore the latest innovations and developments in the field.

Join Us for the Unveiling

The unveiling of the Wundine 3 will take place on October 23, 2024, from 14:30 to 15:30 at Stand 1C82 in the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1). We invite all attendees to join us in witnessing this milestone in the advancement of mobile aquatic education.
