Congress within the framework of interbad 2024 / Exciting modules under the
motto “Smart and sustainable”
The German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry (DGfdB)
and Messe Stuttgart are delighted to announce the forthcoming DGfdB Congress
2024, which will take place from 22 to 24 October 2024 within the framework of the
renowned interbad trade fair in Stuttgart.
The DGfdB Congress is one of the most important events in the industry and offers
experts in the construction and operation of baths as well as technical equipment a
unique platform to exchange knowledge and experiences. The offer has been
condensed in order to increase networking opportunities. The “International
Session” in English celebrates its première. The motto of this year’s congress is
“Smart and sustainable”. The congress will have a variety of presentations,
workshops and discussion panels on current topics and trends in the industry.
“We are really looking forward to the upcoming 70th DGfdB Congress, which will
coincide with the 30th interbad 2024 in Stuttgart. Following the opening ceremony
with prominent swimmer Britta Steffen, the congress will focus on topics such as the
project prepared with Z-punkt on the municipal transformation “Baths as an enabler
in the 2030+ municipality”. Although the German bath industry – which I happily
describe as the “mirror of society” – is considered unique worldwide and outdoor
pools are viewed by many as a cultural asset, politically there is still too often the
shortened view on costs. A smart and sustainable transformation must work in all
areas of the bath industry. The specialist presentations and discussions in the
various modules examine all facets with this in mind from the technical equipment
and operation through to a future-oriented alignment”, reports Christian Mankel,
President of the DGfdB.
The highlights of this year’s congress include:
- Opening event with keynotes and subsequent podium discussion with the title
“Baths undergoing change: the smart and sustainable transformation of baths” - Presentations and sessions on the operation of baths, construction of baths and their technical equipment, baths as players and enablers, the swimming pool in a social context, as well as staff issues
- Networking events and the opportunity to exchange information and ideas with
colleagues and experts

- 22 October 2024: Opening and welcome with Britta Steffen, Olympic Champion,World Champion, European Champion from 10.00 // Module “Operation of baths– Municipal transformation” from 14.00
- 23 October 2024: Module “Construction of baths and technical equipment – water as a resource, energy assessment and mobile indoor pool” from 10.00 // Module “International Session – Transformation, municipal integration, digitalisation and sustainability” from 14.00
- 24 October 2024: Module “Staff – Global recruiting. Swimming pool employers honour the best trainees” from 10.00 // Module “Sauna impulses – Quality management in saunas” also at 10.00
Registration: Interested parties can obtain more information and register online at
www.interbad.de. The participation fee is € 99 per module. Early-bookers only pay
€ 79 if they register before 30 September 2024. Registration is free of charge for
trainees.
The interbad trade fair, which takes place at the same time as the congress, also
offers participants the opportunity to obtain information on the latest products and
services in the industry and establish valuable contacts.
